In this video, Dr. C who teaches online classes suggests us not to plagiarize. He says almost 10 percent university students are plagiarizing. They try to copy and paste information online as their own. They also give us some examples of university student plagiarism, such as two students whom they don’t know each other copied the same information online, which caused them into trouble. Like what it says in the video, it’s not right and it’s cheating, for instance, it’s an academic theft. It also gives us suggestion in the video how to use other’s information properly, which is paraphrasing the resource and putting proper citation in your paper. Anyhow, do your own work is the most important.
Reflection & NETS-Teachers Standard :
According the NETS-Teachers Standard, this video is focusing on promoting and modeling Digital Citizenship and Responsibility. "Teachers understand local and global societal issues and esponsibilities in an enolving digital culture and exhibit legal and ethical behavior in their professional pracitices". In this Video, Dr. C is showing us that plagiarizing is wrong and it is cheating, so he is advocating, modelling and teaching safe, legal, and ethical use of digital information and technology. As to a teacher, it is very important to guide and show students what is right related to digital information using.
